BAYKO Parts List - 1939 to 1941
'New Series'

Detailed below are the complete parts lists for the BAYKO sets from the production between 1939 and 1941, which bore the legend 'New Series'.
New Series set 5 model of a church
This marked the culmination of a significant period of transition for BAYKO and built on the innovations of the 20's series sets.
I hope you find this useful - if you've spotted an error in the list or want to debate any of the figures...
Sets remained in the red, white and pale green colour scheme.
This was the last production period before the war with no further changes to the range until the post-war period.
Detatched Bungalow made from 'New Series' parts with extremely rare white Bay Window Cover
These sets saw the launch of several new parts which are highlighted in yellow below.
The Small Roof was renamed the Medium Roof 'to make room' in the list for the new Small Roof.
Windows were re-modelled in "cruciform" style.
Some time, almost certainly late 1941, production ceased to focus on the war effort.
There is some debate as to whether or not Wall Capping was included in the #6 Set. They weren't included in the parts list but they were used for some of the demonstration models shown in the manual. Chris Reeve bought an 'unadulterated' set with these quantities in. Can you clarify this, or confirm the correct number included. If so...
The only other evidence I can find, which suggests they were included, is from features in 'Games & Toys' and 'Toy Trader'.
.
Front Cover of both versions of the New Series manuals
There are 2 versions of the 'New Series' manual...
The first page of models from the New Series model cards
There was also a set of model plan cards...
.
There was one last change [below] in 'New Series' BAYKO set contents, which was instigated as a matter of necessity, caused by wartime material shortages...
The 1940 leaflet announcing the switch from Tie Bars to Floors
...as shown by the slip [right], Tie Bars were replaced by Floors...
...fancy thinking warships were more important than BAYKO!
.
Around 1940, there was a brief flirtation with Hollow Rods in an attempt to save scarse raw materials.

At some point, probably 1940, not long before the war finally halted BAYKO production, Tie-Bars were replaced by Floors in the proportions shown below. This relates to the lack of metal for Tie Bars.
