BAYKO Parts List Late - 1938

Church - actually built from a set #5 of the period
Detailed below are the complete parts lists for the BAYKO sets from this comparatively short production period, comprising just the second half of 1938...
...however, I believe the conversion sets remained available until the war...
The feature that distinguishes this period from the earlier one is the fact that the #6 set was now offered in standard red, white and green rather than 'Oak' and white...
...which meant that a conversion set [#5A] now made sense...
...and so was introduced at the same time.
At around this time, Binding Strips began to be replaced by Straight Tie-Bars - the quantities below are only certain for conversion sets #2A and #3A.

"In place of the Binding Strips small metal Tie Bars have been substituted, these being more convenient and less noticeable in the final model."
These figures for the number of Rods in the Conversion Sets are wrong - unfortunately, this is what the manual says!!! Thanks to Bob Burgess for setting this hare running.
I can't explain this anomaly at all, but these quantities, as shown for Conversion Sets in the manuals, are not correct, I believe, but are shown for completeness.
Remember, any set could still be ordered in the 'Oak' and white colour scheme right up to the war.

BAYKO was made throughout from BAKELITE...

There were 2 versions of the full manual for sets #1 to #6...
Front cover of both the first manual for sets #1 to #6
...but only the later version overlaps this comparatively limited period...
Strangely, both versions of the manual for sets #1 to #6 which were in circulation from late 1935 to 1938 contain errors in the contents lists shown for several of the conversion sets...
...initially I thought this may be due to the contents changes initiated in 1935, but that doesn't answer all the questions, particularly why they still weren't corrected in the later version...
