'New Series' - Late 1941
Final Version

This style of Instruction Manual was produced by Plimpton for their 'New Series' BAYKO sets.
There is no printers code to confirm the dates, but the earliest version was certainly 1939...
...there is a second version, dated, I believe, 1940...
...and a third version, dated, I believe, in the second half of 1940...
...and this very similar, replacement version was dated 1941-ish...
...there are perhaps 4 clues for estimating this date : -

Including the 'over-sticker' version, this, technically, was the fifth version of this manual.
►
Manufacture was stopped by wartime legislation in 1941 - though sales continued into 1942.
►
Parts prices, as detailed on page 2, had been increased significantly compared to the earlier version.
►
The range of parts which were dropped when the 'New Series' sets were introduced in 1939, were now no longer available.
 
To the right is page 2 of the first version of this manual, presumably dated 1940-ish, but which has an updated BAYKO set price list as an oversticker, glued over the original, at the top, effectively making a short-lived version 1A.

It comprises 34 black and white pages, including photos of models, all on glossy white paper, with a two colour cover, printed in red and green on thicker white paper / card.
Size - 220mm x 141mm = 8.7 x 5.6 inches.
 
In addition to this manual, larger sets also included a number of Model Cards which provided detailed diagrams of models which were not printed on the manual pages...
 
 
There are several small differences between the earlier and final versions of the 'New Series' manual, but they are mainly slight adjustments to the layout of parts lists...
...except for the 3 pages highlighted in yellow below.
There's a type-setting error on page 18 of the earlier versions ["Green Wnidows"] which was corrected in this final version.
