I seem to recall a fuss, in the early 90's, when ICI spent several £ million updating their well-known roundel logo. |
BAYKO, in complete contrast, appears to have had an almost continuous identity crisis!!! |
BAYKO wasn't alone in the speed of its development as plastic technology forged ahead over its 30-year life... |
...however, BAYKO must surely be unique in the frequency of change of, indeed its cavalier attitude to, its own logo. |
For example the logos on set boxes differed from those on the manuals inside for many years. |
The table below shows you just what I am talking about - you can clearly see the evolution of the BAYKO logo as the examples are shown roughly in date order. |
Can you think of any other company or organisation which would have at least 18 variations of their logo in less than 30 years? |
I'm sure modern day marketeers would be horrified at this denial of the importance of having a strong brand identity. |
